Newton Stone Design was established in 2008 by sculptor Newton Bishop. NSD as we like to call it focuses on structural landscaping, retaining walls, steps, paving, free standing walls and sandstone sculpture.

By utilising traditional hand stone masonry techniques with modern power tools means we can offer intricate and customised work as well as large scale constructions. NSD employ skilled workers based on job requirements.

Sandstone is my passion and creating forms and structures is always a pleasure.

Meet Newton Bishop

Newton has been working as a landscaper, stonemason and sculptor since 1990 and holds a Landscape Diploma from TAFE NSW.

He worked for Ishi Buki sandstone sculptures for over 15 years, and in that time created numerous public sculptures for councils Sydney wide. These sculptures can be found in playgrounds and pathways throughout the Northern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs and at Olympic Park as well as public signage can be found all around Sydney.

Newton mainly sculpts Australian plants and animals but will make just about anything large or small. From a ten tonne lizard in Dubbo Sensory Garden to a twenty kilo wombat. He has exhibited at Garden Design shows and the Sculptors Society, which he is a member.

Newton also has a deep passion for feature gardens, rainforest plants and epiphytic plants. Epiphytes are plants that grow on trees and rocks for greenwalls and vertical gardens.

His true specialty is to blend the two or three together. Stonewalls with small sections of vertical gardens and sculptures as features to make them uniquely appealing.

Newton tirelessly works to create things with a wow factor that will stand the test of time.
